The next big title for KSM: Felix Arnold wins in the ADAC Kart Academy

The KSM Schumacher Racing Team celebrate a second championship victory at the ADAC Masters final round at Wackersdorf as Felix Arnold wins the OK title for 2017

OK class senior driver Felix Arnold turned the tables on his title fight chances at the ProKart Raceland circuit in Germany this weekend, having boosted his total points over the course of the event to be just ahead to lead by four going into race 2 Sunday afternoon. Starting from pole after winning the first race, he battled closely with his nearest rival to eventually settle the score, losing the lead and regaining it several laps from the flag to take the win by only a narrow margin. Even though penalties changed the results for both the leading drivers, Arnold was victorious in winning his first major karting title as the champion and finished race 2 in P3.

Adding to the successful senior campaign for the KSM team, 2017 ADAC Masters champ Leon Köhler kept his momentum up to take a crushing victory in the KZ2 category final race, hammering the field with a massive gap of almost 15 seconds as he crossed the finish line.

A restless last round to the German series saw some mixed results in most categories on the first day of October, however, there were some exciting highlights to break up the cloudy skies once the early rain showers cleared for the racing.

The younger KSM members drove well to gain every possible position in both the Bambini and Junior classes, although the racing incidents took their toll. In OK Junior, Levi O’Dey stormed home to claim a deserving podium at the fifth round, finishing on P3 in the last race Sunday.

It was a challenging and less satisfying end to the championship race for the others seniors in OK, but the KSM and Schumacher Racing Team drivers can be proud of their combined efforts.
